We are proud to welcome you to the Kansas City Figure Skating Club website! We serve our members and the national skating community! Kansas City Figure Skating Club is home to many regional, sectional, national, and international skaters. For more information on our club and membership opportunities, check out the Membership page.
The KCFSC Annual Banquet will be held Tuesday, June 11 at the Carriage Club at 5301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO 64112. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. there will be a barbeque buffet including smoked chicken, pulled pork, baked beans, coleslaw, kettle chips, rolls, and cookies. Ice tea and water are available for all with lemonade included in the children’s meals. Following dinner, we will begin our awards ceremony and annual meeting. After awards, members of the club not involved in the meeting may swim at no additional charge. The cost is $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for children ages 12 and under. For those 21 and over, alcoholic beverages will be available, but must be paid for by individual members.
During the awards ceremony, we recognize each skater’s accomplishments and learn a little more about each skater. When registering, you will be asked to give some information about each skater and also to provide photos for our slideshow.
We ask each member to vote even if members are not attending the banquet. Please use the link above to do this.
Every year, the club votes on our annual awards including the Shawndra Beauchamp Spirit Award which honors a skater in our club for spirit reflecting Shawndra’s enthusiasm. Please vote for any club member for this award.
The skater earning the most points for competitions and testing for the past year will be receiving the John Coughlin High Point Award.
Also, we ask all members to vote on our Charles Wheatley Volunteer Award. Charles was a caring individual who gave to our club and skating community without expecting recognition for himself. All members of the club who volunteered this last year are eligible to receive this award.
Three skaters exemplifying great sportsmanship are honored by the club. We also honor our most improved skater, which will be decided by a vote from our coaches. Four of the previously mentioned awards come with a traveling trophy kept by the winner for the year. Please, come join for this fun evening of recognizing our members’ accomplishments!
Thank you to all the skaters, coaches, officials and volunteers who made Skate KC a success! Results are now posted on the Skate KC page. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!

The PSA Super-Site Seminar, brought to Kansas City by the Midwest Figure Skating Council and PSA, was held July 21-22 in Independence, MO.
Janet Champion and Lynn Goldman were the presenters. Janet is a member of the PSA Coaches Hall of Fame, coaches skaters from Learn to Skate through Olympians, and was one of the youngest touring professional skaters in history. She will be working with skaters on jump and spin techniques and will also be available for private lessons.
Lynn is a U.S. Figure Skating national singles and pairs judge, national singles technical controller, and national data and video operator. In addition, she is a longtime Skate Kansas City official.
With all the changes to the testing and competing structures that are happening within U.S. Figure skating right now, this was a great opportunity to learn and ask questions.
It’s Membership Renewal Time!
The 2017-2018 skating season ended on June 30, which means it’s membership renewal time! Last year we introduced the KCFSC Membership Portal– this is where you can renew or purchase a KCFSC membership, update your account details (address, emails, phone, etc.), sign-up for volunteer opportunities or tests, and purchase KCFSC merchandise.
During the last month, all the volunteer hours have been entered for the 2017-2018 season – those families with at least 20 hours of volunteering (between 5/31/17 through 6/1/18) will be eligible for the $50 membership discount (if the renewal is completed by 6/30/18). Discounts will automatically be applied for those who qualify. For details on the Volunteer Incentives program - be sure to read through these to see how to earn discounted memberships and/or competition stipends for the 2019-2020 season.
